“Discipline is the foundation upon which all success is built. Lack of discipline inevitably leads to failure.”
– Jim Rohn (1930-2009)
Last week’s blog from Leadership & Learning expert Kevin Eikenberry draws heavily from one of the most influential business philosophers of our time, Jim Rohm. The story is short and simple, but the message is something we could dwell on for hours.
Eikenberry’s advice to all of us:
1. Determine one thing you need to be more disciplined about today, and do it.
2. Spend time thinking about the role discipline plays in your life and determine any next steps based on your observation.
3. Talk to someone you think is quite disciplined. Interview them to see what you can learn on your own walk towards greater discipline and success.
Particularly in an age where business owners are bombarded with so many distractions, it’s more imperative now than ever to set priorities and make every business day driven by purpose. Not only will you get more accomplished, the “ripple effect” will impact those around you to focus on what really matters.
