Three Steps to Relaxation Station

Business owners eat, sleep and breathe their companies. Many frequently work 60+ hours a week.  We get it. It’s a labor of love. But could you be going overboard?

Some experts say you could be achieving more by working less. How? By building in some relaxation time to your workflow. Take these three steps to get started:

Find the right approach. – There are many different outlets for relaxation. Try escaping with an early morning or late evening walk or yoga session. Take a power nap. Or escape into a great book. Find what helps your mind relax and keeps you healthy and happy. It may take some time to figure out your best relaxation practice, but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did.

Make the time. – Create a schedule for yourself and build time in for whatever relaxation activity you choose. Our tip? For every 2-3 hours of work you do, build in 30 minutes for a relaxation activity. This will boost productivity and keep your mind alert and focused.

Be flexible. – It is okay if you don’t follow an exact schedule. Trying to stick to a schedule can be stressful, but they should just be used for guidance. You control your schedule, don’t let it control you.
