Knowing a bit more about Millennials’ motivations and needs in the workplace can help your entire organization succeed. From training to collaboration, here are four tips to help your company effectively lead the Millennial generation:
Retain this generation of employees by putting a great deal of emphasis on your company’s training program. Surveys have revealed that Millennial workers rate training and development three times higher than cash bonuses as an employee benefit.
2. Restructure the workweek.
Reconsider work schedules and allow flexibility for your employees. Try four 10-hour days that allow your workers a three-day weekend. Or give employees a half-day on the first Friday of every month. Give them something to look forward to and time to recharge.
3. Promote collaboration.
Millennials want to contribute to conversations and decisions that affect their workplace. Offer open meetings and collaboration sessions where everyone can share ideas.
4. Get involved.
Connect your younger employees with the community by getting them involved. Millennials desire working for a business that has a positive impact on society. This is why leaders prioritizing volunteer work are finding great success in attracting and retaining Gen Yers.
